Vic: Three chase armed robber after hold up in car park

MELBOURNE, April 25 AAP - Two men, including a 76-year-old, were cut about the arms
when they tried to seize an armed man after he had held up and robbed a woman at knifepoint
today.

The robber was eventually overcome by one of the injured and a third man before police
arrived at the scene in outer suburban Noble Park.

A man had approached a 54-year-old woman and her nine-year-old great niece as they
were sitting in the front seat of her car at a carpark off Frank Street, Noble Park, about
9.30am.

He threatened the woman with a knife before grabbing her purse and running off.

A 76 year-old man who saw the incident confronted the robber in a nearby laneway and
was cut on the wrist as the robber escaped.

A 58 year-old man also tried to stop the fleeing thief, receiving a slash to his right
arm as he grappled with him.

A third man, a 36-year-old, helped to subdue the alleged offender until police arrived.

The injured men were taken to the Dandenong Hospital where they were treated and released.

A 26-year-old man from Endeavour Hills was helping police with their inquiries.
