NSW; Elaine Nile to quit parliament next week

Veteran Christian MP ELAINE NILE will quit the New South Wales Parliament this weekto be replaced by the head of the Uniting Church's Wesley Mission, Reverend GORDON MOYES.

Mrs NILE will end a 14-year stint in the state's Legislative Council where she servedalongside her husband, Reverend FRED NILE.

The Sunday Telegraph says her decision to quit is based largely on ill-health relatedto respiratory problems.

Reverend MOYES hosted Sydney's highest rating Sunday night radio program for 17 yearson 2GB before it was axed earlier this month.

He will be sworn in as Mrs NILE'S replacement on Tuesday week.
